Permanent Salary: £35,000 per year (dependent on experience)

Halo is one of the leading providers of event equipment and services in Central London.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-focused Check-in Technician to join our busy warehouse operations team. This role is responsible for the accurate, timely, and methodical processing of equipment returned from hire, ensuring all items are accounted for, correctly assessed, and efficiently routed back into the de-prep cycle.
This is a critical control point within our operation. You will be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy and identifying missing or physically damaged equipment – directly impacting our ability to deliver high-quality equipment on time and to the standards expected by our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of professional AV, lighting, audio, and special effects equipment commonly used in the UK events industry, combined with a proactive and organised approach to warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Check-In & Stock Control
· Accurately check in all returned hire equipment within agreed timeframes (target: within 24 hours of return)
· Ensure all items match the originally dispatched job specification
· Finalising jobs, certifying all items have returned as expected
· Identify, record, and report unreturned or physically damaged equipment – escalating promptly to management.
Inspection & Quality Control
· Ensure damaged or suspect items are quarantined and logged correctly into the repairs process
· Maintain high standards of presentation and care across all returned kit
Workflow & Warehouse Coordination
· Ensure checked-in equipment is routed to the correct department for de-prep
· Work closely with De-Prep teams to maintain an efficient turnaround of stock
· Support continuous improvement of check-in procedures and warehouse workflows
· Assist with stock checks when required
Health, Safety & Compliance
· Follow all manual handling, health & safety, and warehouse procedures
· Maintain a clean, organised, and safe check-in area
· Report any safety concerns or equipment risks immediately
Required Skills & Experience
· Previous experience working with AV, lighting, audio, or event production equipment, ideally within a warehouse environment
· Strong understanding of common UK event equipment, required accessories, terminology and manufacturer flight case layouts
· Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
· Confident following structured processes, checklists, and quality controls
· Comfortable handling, inspecting, and assessing technical equipment
· Organised, efficient, and able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Calm, methodical, and solutions-focused under pressure
· A reliable team player with clear communication skills
· Experience using barcode scanning, hire software, or stock management systems
· Physically fit — this is an active, hands-on role involving manual handling of equipment
Desirable Skills & Experience
· Background in warehouse operations within AV, lighting, or staging companies
· Experience using the Current RMS rental package
· Experience working to tight turnaround times in live event environments
